WUAI Open Letter on Community Accountability
As a women’s collective working through a lens of anti-imperialism, struggling to end gender violence in all its forms, we are appalled by the violations committed within the community in the past year in regard to sexual assault. Women United Against Imperialism (WUAI) is pressing for a community dialogue around sexual assault and community accountability for activist organizations and groups. Come and join Women United Against Imperialism (WUAI) as we discuss how we are dealing with issues related to childcare that we are facing due to austerity measures and lack of resources. This workshop will also include a practical session on how to start a parenting coop so that we can face childcare problems head on and build people’s power to combat increasing cuts.

The May 1 Movement (M1M) is a coalition of working class organizations and progressive allies, with representation from various sectors, including organized labour, youth, media, women, human rights, migrant and various ethnic communities.
M1M formed in 2009, “the initial idea was bringing out May 1st as international workers day” says Marco Luciano of Migrante Ontario.
